Here you go - hope this is somewhat close to the color of your car.

Bob, can you tell me how you did that. I try using the color replace tool but it doesn't come through as good as your job. Thanks

Sure, I have PS Elements 2.0 and a book on how to do cool things. One of the topics is digital respray, such as changing the color of the car. Here are the basic steps.
  1. Use the polygonal or magnetic lasso to select the edges of your car.
  2. Feather the selection by 1 pixel
  3. Click on Layer, Duplicate Layer.
  4. Now, desaturate the dupe layer by pressing Ctrl+Shift+U.
  5. Now click on Layer, New Fill Layer, Solid Color.
  6. Choose your desired color from the palette.
  7. Open the Layers palette. Hold down the Alt key, then move the mouse over the dividing line between the fill layer and the background copy layer. The cursor will become two linked circles. Click the mouse.
  8. Open the Layers palette again and reduce the opacity of the fill color layer to 70% and select the Soft Light blend mode from the dropdown list.
  9. Now use the eraser tool on both the background copy AND the fill layer to "mask off" all of the parts you don't want colored, such as headllights, windows, side markers, chrome trim, etc.
  10. You're done!

No problem! That's what this forum is all about, right?
