Default Turboing IS300

Im planning on purchasing a is300 in a few months and i want to build it right from the start. I couldnt find a clear answer to this after searching for hours but if someone could help me understand what i would need to turbo the is300.

Im planning on purchasing this turbo kit http://xs-power.com/toyota-turbo-kits-6.htm and I dont have big expectations like 1000hp or anything like that just 300-400 hp for a daily driver.

Any advice will help me and be noted.

I would do a 2jz gte swap but i dont have the space to store the engine until i can find a good shop to do it.

To do it properly you're going to need to build your auto trans, swap it to a different auto trans, or swap it to a manual. You will also need a good ecu. People will tell you they've gotten away w/ SAFC making 350hp, but I can tell you right now without a shadow of a doubt there was power on the table and they were running their motor in a way that didn't promote longevity. Their timing numbers would be off for the load range the fueling was coming from since the fueling is now a lie based upon a modified airflow signal.

If you want your car to run right you're going to have to buy some good parts. I wouldn't expect a cx racing kit to be worth a damn. Also that turbo is probably junk in terms of efficiency, spool, and total lb/min output. They don't even say what it is and it's not possible to sell an entire turbo kit for just over $1000 including a turbo if it's not a chinese ebay turbo. If doing it right is outside of the budget I would wait until it is inside the budget unless you want to end up selling/giving up on the car because it costs too much or it's too much work to fix properly later when the results of doing cheap upgrades are realized.
