Hi guys my name Is Gene, I'm from Los Angeles and just bought my first Lexus is350 and super excited to be part of this members club.

I got myself a used 2006 Lexus is350 with 115k miles..I bought it this app similar to Craigslist called Offerup. The car looks, drives and sounds amazing. I will add pictures soon.

After I bought the car I drove a to a gas station to fill up, and as soon as I drove away the check engine light came up and VCS light came on..The person I bought it from had the codes cleared before selling it. Basically screwed me over, but I'm not so sad because the car looks and drives well. But I'm stil a little concerned. I took it to AutoZone and they did a free code reading. P2757 Solenoidcontrol circuit Performance or stuck OFF and p0751 A shift solenoid Stuck off. Also when I flour it, the car jumps off great but has a hard time going into second gear when its full throttle, I have to release the gas pedal a little bit for it to shift. after second gear it shifts great. Shift solenoid from Autozone is like 150$. What can you guys recommend? I'm stuck and confused.

I don't know what to do guys please help

 

Congratulations and welcome! However, I am sorry to hear that.. next time I would suggest investing in a decent code scanner under $100 and bring with you when looking at vehicles because that's what I do. As for the code, I highly recommend taking your vehicle to a reputable auto repair shop for them to scan it with their sophisticated device. Ask them first if they will charge you but most shops won't charge you for scanning a code.

Don't trust Autozone's free scanning tools because in my experience it's very unreliable and doesn't help narrow the issue down. Once you find out the correct/detailed codes, report back here. You should also check the tranny and rear differential fluid too.
