Default Building my 6sp 08 IS250 for auto-x

I know this car is underpowered approximately 160 wheel hp but, not for autocross I see big turbo high horsepower cars getting killed by mazda miatas around the track, and with a 6 speed I know it will be fun. Here's with I have so far:

F sport rear sway bar
F sport intake kit lower box and aluminum pipe
invidia mid pipe
Tanabe axle back
Megan racing strut tower bar (mainly for looks lol)
Tein S lowering springs.

What I will be purchasing soon:

F sport front sway bar
Better tires don't know which brand. ( recommendations will help : )
Better brake pads (more than likely EBC brand break pads)

Any other suggestions will help me out a bunch I'm fine with the horse power so I'm not looking for a 500hp street monster but, that will be cool but, not with this platform..lol

Thanks !!!

Nice to see a 2IS owner focusing on performance.

Most important mod is to improve the driver and learning how to engage an autox course with the best possible lines.

If additional mods are needed for the IS250, the first mod I'd recommend is one that was very recently released for the IS250 which is the RR Racing ECU Tune. Those that have flashed their ECU have been happy with how much more lively the engine had become (higher rev limit which will help you out at the autox and a reported 22rwhp gain which is pretty substantial).

If you're looking at getting a set of EBC brake pads for the autox, I recommend YellowStuff. It's what I use for daily driving and autox events. It has a great initial bite and should keep your IS250 from experience brake fade. Along with brake pads, you may want to consider switching out the OEM brake fluid to a higher boiling point DOT4 fluid (i.e. Motul RBF 600 or ATE Type 200).

One subtle upgrade that will help you as the driver keep the IS250 at the proper slip angle of the tires is the 2011+ IS-F Steering ECU. Steering feel and feedback is tremendously improved over the old ISX50 steering ECU which will help keep your steering wheel pointed at the exact angle as you feel when the tires start to lose grip.

Are you trying to build the car for any particular class? If so that will dictate a-lot of what you are able to do. Making the car "faster" but bumping into a faster autocross class will do nothing but drain your wallet and make you feel slower - depending on your particular goals or desires that may or may not suit you.

IS250 for autocross - you NEED 17 inch wheels, 18s or bigger will do nothing but make you less competitive, and cost you more for tires.

What brand of tire you want depends on what size tires you settle on. If you stick with staggered sizes, the biggest you can shoehorn under the car will be a 255/40-17 up front and a 275/40-17 out back. In those sizes your choices for "autocross" tires comes down to a Falken Azenis RT615K+, or Nitto NTO5.
With a square tire/wheel setup you probably want to stick with 255/40s on all four corners, in which case you will want a set of Bridgestone RE-71R, Dunlop Direzza ZIII, or BF Goodrich g-Force Rival.
