Default IS350 Bolt-ons

Header, intake, and tune is the way to Go? Which brand nets the most hp/tq gains? How much should I expect to gain? Thank you. Just got my IS350 a few days ago!

PPE Headers ~15 whp, F Sport/Joe Z intake ~5 whp RR Racing or OV tuning ~15 hp +/- depending on mods I believe. RR Racing Supercharger ~110 whp/tq, HKS supercharger 50 whp? With highflow cats PPE headers net around 10 whp I think, someone will have to confirm. Exhaust setups for power someone will have to fill in.

if you browse around the RR racing website it should give you a good idea of what's possible

There's a multitude of old threads with dyno graphs showing gains of 5rwhp with the JoeZ intake. Lexus F-Sport brochures also document "Up to 3 percent gains" with the F-Sport intake.

Hmmm, that's contrary to what I hear from all the performance heads on this forum, Maybe you could link a couple of those threads?

There's a ton of historical threads if you search for JoeZ intake dyno. Here's a few:

So whats the best alternative to the joez intake since they dont produce them anymore without looking at f sport?

Been reading alot but looks like everyone has moved on to a isf and refers back to joez

I hate to say this but don't even bother with bolts on except for sound. For sound go for it! If you want performance you'll be better off saving for a IS F.

Surely from all the posts on here everyone was claiming 3-5hp, which is still a gain and plus i do want some extra sound as currently its very quiet.

The plan is to upgrade to a ISF(or c63, cla45, golf r) in a year or two but ive just got the is350 coming from a is250. But in the meantime i want to hit the 12.99 quarter mile in the 350. Having got a 13.12 stock (stripped interior) so every hp counts.

So for the time being i dont mind doing a few cheap mods as i can always sell the intake, exhaust when i sell the car and get some money back. Doing all the labour myself as i use to have a skyline back in the day where i got quite hands on with modding the car.

Here is my take on mods for the IS350. The best gains I have had were from a tune, ans switching over to 2.5" exhaust. Both of those were noticeable and are recommended. I have headers and the car didn't feel any faster after installing and I didn't have any increase in MAF readings so I am not so sure about that +15HP. As far as the intake goes, it seems that ditching the OEM airbox gained more than swapping out the tube. I didn't really see any difference in airflow swapping out the OEM tube with a 3" aluminum pipe. I have done all of the above and it has added up, but at the end of the day its just past 300hp at best. Total cost to duplicate what I have is probably ~$3,000 so depending on what you want, it might or might not be worth it.

Thanks DickH thats good info!

Been doing further reading and will probably go RR racing tune with their CF intake pipe & K&n pod, i wonder if it comes with heat shield like the ISF ones they have on their website.

Going to get in touch with them and see, at the mechanics now getting help with cat back exhaust install as i cant get the bloody o2 sensors off lots of cursing and even being a powerlifter myself didnt help as its too hard to apply enough force with the car on jack stands.

Thought about headers but once factoring labour for install its not worth it for me.
