2006 Lexus IS250 P2757 Error CodeHello everyone,
I just went to my Lexus Dealership to get my car looked at. I had the check engine light come on last week along with VSC & Trac Off. My reader said it was Misfire in Cylinder 3. I got a new Ignition Coil and Spark plugs and did Cylinders 1, 3, and 5. Did not do the other 3 (2, 4 and 6) because I had to remove the manifold and everything. Did not have time at work.
Everything was working fine until same lights came on (check Engine, VSC, and Trac Off). The Check engine was not blinking, was just steady. I checked my reader and it had the code P2757. I wanted to be on the safe side and asked them to take a look at it more. After almost 2 hours waiting, they said "Yeah it was a Transmission error code. We reset the lights and if it comes back on, you need a new transmission." Spent $135 for that report...?
I am asking you all, maybe you could be of more assistance. I notice the Gear Position is increasing faster than I think it should. Goes all the way up to Gear 6 when I barely hit 45-50?
It is a 2006 Lexus IS250 RWD. 181k miles. Bought it when it was 135k. This is the first time this ever happened to me.
Some say it could be Solenoid, carbon buildup, need a transmission flush, etc. Where should I start?
Thank you all in advance.

The 250 has had some problems with the transmission, Lexus claims its transmission will last the lifetime of the vehicle... but many other club members would say otherwise. Most people change out the trans fluid, that would be your best start, and definitely wouldn't hurt at 180k miles.

Thank you for the reply. I just took it to a Transmissions Shop near my work. They got same code and they even test drove it and noticed the Lock Up Solenoid was acting up. Didn't feel anything when it was coming on. He wants to do Trans Fluid first before anything. He said it's not even that bad, but couldn't hurt and would save a lot of money. He thinks it could be some buildup that's causing the errors. Everything else was working fine. Noticed the gear shifting too fast? Literally barely passed 40mph and it's on Gear 6. I don't know if that's normal or not in this Automatic IS250.

I've experienced the shuddering between 20mph and 40mph, and sometimes at 50 mph; have had it for several months now, and just recently; it started to get progressively worse. I had the VSC and traction light on for several months as well. I've had the problem for approx. 25,000 miles, and I'm at 208,500 now. My main maintenance/repair shop, and a few other shops all showed me the P2757 code. Some showed the P2714 and P0751 codes too. I took it to a Tranny shop, and the owner quoted $2800 to rebuild it. I waited about a week, and decided to pour SeaFoam in (at the advice of a couple of auto parts store employees at different locations) on a full tank of fuel, and a full bottle during an oil change. SeaFoam directions state 1 oz. per quart of oil. I made the mistake of pouring the whole bottle in the crankcase. But with much smiling and happiness; my warning lights, shuddering, and engine startup screech are gone.

Just because the lights go off doesn't mean that its salved. My lights have been going on and off for the last year. I have a IS 250 , 2007 and it has 180K; I've noticed if I drive slower and don't accelerate as quickly the lights will disappear. Did you lights come back on at all? and did you change anything else since you last posted in June ? Thanks
