Are there any real ECU tunes for the IS250? from what i've read, there seems to be quite the controversy as people claim that toyota/lexus ecu's are encrypted and cant be modified. anyone try one of the plug in tunes that are being sold out there? VR tune, OV, etc.
Has anyone bought ecu tunes and have feedback for them?
are there any alternatives to ECU tuning?
Fairly noobish at this, just curious on the subject

They said that about the is250 platform because even the best tuning possible only provides like 8WHP. not really noticeable

If you haven't already figured it out there isn't much performance mods you can do to an IS250. I purchased the Ovtuned stage 2 with sport +throttle bench tune and had the rev limiter raised to 7200, it is by far the only performance mod that I felt an actual difference (also have exhaust and intake). Check out the 2IS performance section, there is a few long threads about Ovtuned and several posts with positive feedback from other IS250 owners.
