Default '09 IS250 AWD Performance Upgrades

Hi guys,

Just bought an 09 IS250 AWD and I'm loving it.
First of all I'm not looking into adding 999999 hp to my car. I understand that its a 250 and its AWD.

I just want it to sound better and have more HP. Any suggestions?

Basic bolt ons will give it a better sound, and might catch at most 20hp - nothing noticeable.
F Sport / Takeda Intake (neither of these require oiling at the filter so they're convenient),
F Sport / Invidia / HKS (most drone) Exhaust

If you have money to burn, PPE headers (no cats) + o2 simulators .... headers are the best bolt on for #s with N/A cars.
But like you've said, you understand that its a 250, so what I would do is delete your secondary cats, delete your primary cats (get o2 simulators), and if thats not enough, delete your resonator.

I'm in the same boat with an 09 AWD, but have accepted it for what it is and have made mine a low and slow cruiser (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...awd-build.html). Even in Alberta with our horrible roads lol

Congrats on your purchase OP.
Takeda intake and Invidia exhaust are a great addition to your IS. They will give you an amazing sound and a few extra ponies.

PM us as we ship to Canada every day with special rates and low low taxes.

If you're looking for sound alone and not so much power, there are several exhaust options. As for which sounds the best, it really is personal preference, so look up various clips of each exhaust and see which you like the most.

If you're looking for power, I heard the Joe Z and ARK exhausts add the most power (8 to 11whp). PPE headers have proven to give significant gains (between 12 and 16) but they are a tad expensive.

The ARK DTS is a great exhaust system however it's only for the RWD models.
The PPE are available for both.

I'll be looking into the PPE headers and some exhaust. Probably won't be able to do the more expensive ones since I'm in a college student budget
