GS 470 - Yup a 2uz in a GS400. Done!

Inspiring project! I got a LS430 with over 200k miles and when the 3UZ faces its death I might have to pair the 3uz heads and other parts with a fresh 2uz block. Of course the build has to be planned so that the power output numbers won't go downwards with extra displacement.
So keep the info coming if you have same type plans.

Yes sir 2uz vvti is a good package as it also has better plastic intake manifold. That could also be paired with bit more aggressive 3uz cams (?)
I've done some research after my last message, and for my needs some custom work has to be done in any case. That's cos I want atleast 10:1 compression for going NA (and e85 too).
The pistons have to be modified because 3uzs steeper valve angles, and 2uzs stock mugs can be milled to work with them. Then it'd still have compression somewhere in 8-8,5.
I got about $600 quote (good deal to me) for longer rods but then the piston surface profile & quench areas and all that would be a mystery.. Well designed custom pistons would be the best option.
It is hard to take measurements and plan stuff since my only UZ parts yet are in my daily but I'm definately going 2uz route when rebuilding. Research goes on (Y)
