Can I Swap an is350 motor into my Is250?
I currently own a 2007 is250 (Manual Transmission) I found an is350 motor for a great price and I wanted to know if I needed anything besides the motor to do the swap ? What do you guys advice me ?

You would also have to get the 350 auto transmission, rear diff, ecu, and driveshaft (i believe). Would be best to just sell your is250 and get an is350 unless you can gather all parts and install for less than a few grand and be okay with taking a hit on the cars value (no one likes to buy a car with an engine swap... especially these engines).

Well apparently it has been done before yet the details have not been confirmed 100%. Assuming that the 2gr and 4gr has the same transmission mounting points, it would be a direct swap. One guy recently said he COMPLETED a 350 swap with 250 MT yet did not do a full build thread nor provide pictures. Its like those youtube videos of the non-car guys saying their Toyota Corolla is a BEAST and SO FAST....yeah.. umm... anyway
The engine mounts are the same so the 2gr would be a direct fit and if you keep the 250 MT, the rear diff is optional to change. So you would really need the engine, ECU, and a few sensors here and there to get the engine running properly. Wiring is something that is going to need careful attention to because the engines are not identical so having a service manual for both wouldn't be bad
Mechanically it CAN be done very cheaply and very easily, however the difficulty of wiring it up is still unknown and still makes this swap PLAUSABLE. At a cost point, its almost easier to just buy a 350 since the difference would be the same as an engine swap and proper wiring

I m from Greece and IS350 is not an option so this swap is ideal but the cost of a good used engine with everything on should be very hight. The wiring is a problem if I want to keep my manual trunny but someone in Australia did it and it seemed to work great.I PMed him but no reply!
If you want, I would say go for it, get the engine and confirm how difficult the wiring is. If its plug and play, the Club Lexus Community would go crazy because now we have direct proof because someone actually tried it and was successful.
Other than that we wont really know

I was there for part of the build of the 250 mt to 350. I know wiring was swapped over from the 350, ecu etc. engine mounting points the same, bolts right up. Doner car was a 2010 350 sports luxury (top trim here), we never got 350s before 2010.
