Default Turbo Reliability

Alright, for those of you who have miles on your turbo IS's, how are they holding up? Any recurring probs? I'm lookin to get a turbo this summer. My car's got 10K miles on it, so I am hesitant to blow the warrenty. But if you have had a turbo for a while and nothing has gone wrong that'd help my confidence when buyin a turbo.
Thanks

Just make sure you get or build a pretty good system.

Boosting of any form on a non-boosted engine will always compromise reliability! The 2JZ-GE may be something of an exception if you do it right. I don't have a boosted IS 300 but I do have a boosted Maxima with VQ30DE engine. More than 1 year without any problems! The IS engine is really pretty stout! I take delivery of my IS after I get back to the states! ... after that I will enjoy my warranty for a little while and then who knows ?

Automatic IS300 have to watch out for that pesky AutoTranny ECU and potential shifting issues.....

The auto tranny will take most of the beating relative to the power. We will definitely blow the trans before the engine. Try to get some tranny cooler from B&M, cheapest, lots of applications.
