Default Injen intake install... Check engine

How's it going guys. Recently picked up a cream puff 06 Lexus IS350 coming from a stage 2 audi RS6.
I love the car but I just wanted a little bit more noise maybe a bit more kick. After researching on the forums I went ahead with the Injen intake for my first mod.
Install was easy quality product but upon start up and driving around I am having some issues.
At first it was a rough idle. Then I noticed throttle hesitation and under heavy power it feels like it is choking. But if I continue on it almost sounds like a back fire is coming out the intake. I am assuming it's a misfire. My car has sense thrown a cel and vsc traction light. I tried searching on the forums but cannot quite figure it out. I obviously made sure everything was installed properly I am 99% there is no vacumm leak. I sprayed my maf sensor with cleaner it is secure to the intake plugged in nice and firm. Unplugged the battery for 15 minutes to make sure the system was reset..
I know before I changed from the stock intake I would have some odd idle issues. Could it be that my maf sensor gave up the ghost with new one? Haven't ran it for codes plan on doing so very soon.

I was going to recommend resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery, but you have already tried that.

I haven't heard of many issues regarding MAF sensors, but anything is possible.

How many KMs on the IS350?

I would disconnect the battery again and then unplug everything and reconnect it all to ensure a solid connection. Visually inspect each plug and make sure there's no debris or corrosion or anything.

I recommend sourcing out the techstream cable and software (there's certain Chinese websites that have it for sale for about $20). Very valuable to have for modifications and troubleshooting.

Try cleaning the MAF sensor and check the surrounding grounds. make sure you didn't lose anything while changing your intake.

The ONLY thing I can think of was that maybe some debris from the new items got into the MAF or engine. HOPEFULLY neither of those things happened. The only thing I can think of is once again disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and start from scratch.

Good luck!

Ran over to the auto store and had them run a scan and it came back with P0101 code. Which from what I can gather is a faulty electronic issue around the maf. Whether it be a poor connection, bad wiring, faulty sensor. I did notice the wiring connecting to the maf the clip is fine but behind the clip that connects to the maf almost like a secondary clip that covers the wires is lose the wires all seem fine. I will try and take a picture and upload it. I blew out the the connecting wire plug and the Maf itself. I checked all the wires around and everything looks secure. I almost rather it be the maf then the wiring because at sounds brutal.

Update. Pulled the maf out again sprayed it like crazy then inspected it with a flashlight. Found a peace of plastic down wrapped around one set of sensors. I am guessing that was my culprit. Dug it out carefully with a needle. The plastic looked burned but the sensor coil looked unscathed. I am hoping this was the culprit.
Thanks for all the help guys. Hoping to be able to contribute to this massive knowledge base that is club lexus.

It's always satisfying when you find the problem and it costs nothing to fix
