Car is still with PPE while they finalize everything and design the new exhaust.. Your best bet is to email them on their website and inquire directly.

I've been slammed with my own job so I haven't had much time to follow up.

For anyone seriously interested, I would suggest emailing them directly and inquiring. I think the more interest in this they receive, the quicker they will be on finishing and releasing it.

Out of curiosity, what would everybody be willing to pay for a cold air intake?

What material would you ideally want it to be made from? Thermoplastic would be my choice over aluminum.

Any preference on color? I would want flat black.

For a true cold air intake like this I would definitely pay a premium over the common short rams and F-Sport. Plastic would be ideal given how it stays cooler than aluminum. I have no idea though what the cost comparison would be on production given different materials and types.

Bump!

Is this available yet? Also, are there any "fail safe" components in case it rains? I know this is a big problem for true cai's

FYI this intake is now unofficially for sale from PPE for $575 USD and will be aluminum piping.
I've got some pics from PPE with OP's vehicle.
The idea is actually pretty good because the filter is behind the passenger-foglight area and the pipe actually goes down from above the engine and curves up at the bottom so the filter aims up (less chance of getting water in it)
But install is definitely more work than the F-Sport or any short ram as there is a bracket on the most bottom pipe that needs to be screwed on to some part of the car (you either gotta take your bumper off or lift the car up and remove the bottom trim pieces)

EDIT: here are some he sent me of AZJB's car, I'm not sure what that plastic piece in the last photo is?

It is an "engine cover". It is upside down in the picture, the two fastener clips go down, and the round cutout goes around the swaybar. Looks like trimming it for the CAI eliminates one of the fasteners that hold it on. http://is.sewellparts.com/images/oem...000/511811.jpg

Just looking the pics over, and there's quite an amount of curve to the intake tube...which isn't always a good thing
