Default the f sport exhaust

is the f sport exhaust better then the aftermarket exhaust which is catback. I got a feeling that the catback will give more performance then the f sport exhaust.

The F-Sport exhaust is mainly for looks and sound, I'm not aware of any performance gains. You might pick up a few WHP from the axle-back exhaust, but it's unlikely that you'd feel it.

A well-designed cat-back exhaust should pick up 10-12whp on the IS350.

either route you choose will probably give you just about the same performance. 2-3 HP gain. But i guess the advantage to buying an Fsport exhaust and having a Lexus dealership install it is that will then be honored as part of the warranty of the car since its a Toyota/Lexus made performance part. it's a little more $, but it's also piece of mind if you care about warranty of your car.

Not true.
If you replace with cat back exhaust it also removes the secondary cat which gives some performance gain.
And replacing the axle back with "non factory" exhaust will not void the warranty of the vehicle.
It will void the warranty of the muffler itself and any parts that's directly affect by it.
If you have a issue with the vehicle Lexus have to prove its directly related to the muffler to void the warranty.

Does anybody know the size pipe from the f sport exhaust? Just wanted to know if it's bigger than 1.75 diameter stock exhaust system

All mentioned above makes sense, however, if you get a CEL that's not related to the exhaust, like misfiring in a cylinder, or running abnormally, and go to your dealer while with your catback exhaust, they'll simply tell you they won't work on anything until you put it back to stock.

And as far as gains, even a 10 whp is hard to notice. On these cars anything performance related is a bit of a joke. Just get the parts for sound. And if the secondary cats are removed, the car will just smell more. Everything is designed to give the right backpressure, etc. So you're messing with a perfect tune and expecting gains, that's not going to happen without a re-tune.
