Did a muffler delete(2'' pipes) a month ago on my 350, no to very minimal drone highway cruising. Sounds good when you are accelerating hard 0-60. But when you are accelerating light-medium, like 0-35 after a red light or such, there is definitely drone in the 2-3k rpm range. I liked it at first because overall it sounded so much better than the way to quiet stock setup. After about a week, the drone started getting to me. I caved and ended up ordering an invidia catback yesterday in hopes of good sound, with less drone.

I have a is250 but it has the same engine note as the 350. Me and my friends were hangin out and decided to make my car louder because it sounded like a prius so we took off the mufflers and it got louder but it sounded so sluggish. It made alot of hummmmm sounds esp in the cabin it was a bad and annoying sound. And i was really dissapointed and somehow ended up with a resonator delete and oh boy i was happy. It sounded so much more aggressive it went from hummm to arrrrrrrr like a vq motor. It really changed the sound and for some reason the cabin noise was less to and all the noise you could hear was arrrrrrrr anyways so i was fine with that because thats music to my ears 😃😃😃

Instead of doing the muffler delete, has anyone installed an exhaust cutout like the one here: https://www.redline360.com/dna-motor...ctric-EXCO-225

HONEST ANSWER ONLY: Changing from Stock exhaust to either no muffler or Any other axle back like Invidia ARK and others... DID you guys feel or see any Low end power loss or MPG loss. 2nd Have you actually tested the loss or gain after the modification in a measurable way. Like noting down the MPG before and after. or Running the car and comparing pick up at lower RPM 1000 - 3000 vs 3000 - Max in a single gear. 3rd gear for example.. Just wanna know if we loose low end torque.? maybe that is why some exausts are quite and are called touring exhausts because they offer more low end torque and are quieter then rather say Borla or something.

I just put on the Tsudo axleback ('18 IS350). No noticeable loss of low end or top end power, no noticeable gains either. I think my mileage has actually improved just a bit, maybe 1-1.5 mpg. It could be that I'm driving less aggressively since installing it, but anyone who knows me would highly doubt it. I was getting 21-23 mpg from engine start to arriving at work - about 14 miles, mostly downhill. Now I get 22-24. I don't have data for the return trip because I have different routes and traffic situations depending on when I leave, but it seems to have improved a little as well. I had a full Tsudo catback and it did give a noticeable, albeit slight, boost to roll-ons at low RPM. Had to remove the midpipe after a few days when it started leaking and I realized it wasn't fully compatible with my year model.
