In general, I would budget around $3-3.5k for a complete DIY budget. This is just to cover all your bases incase you hit a snag or find out stuff needs replacing. Keep in mind this is for parts only, and fabrication time/labor is not included. So for example, you can buy a intercooler and piping kit for $150 on ebay, but it will cost you probably another $300-500 for a shop to weld/fit up the piping unless you can TIG weld yourself. Same goes for the downpipe/exhaust system, fuel system components, wiring, tuning, and electronics. Unless you know how to do every last thing yourself, you will still have to factor the extra cost to pay a shop to finish the stuff you don't know how to do.
Jeff hit the nail on the head. I did my na-t setup last year and my total was about $4,500 driving out of my garage. I had to outsource quite a bit of welding and such. I live in the middle of nowhere and my outlets at the house are crap...

LOL ^^^ this guy. "Way easier".

I'll defer to JeffTsai as he did all the work on my car.....twice. I think others have already hit the nail on the head as far as what OP is asking.
