Default Completed jzs161 conversion, but no reverse?

Hi Guys,

Im from Gold Coast Australia & have recently put a 2JZ-GTE into my GS300.

Its starting & running beautifully but I cannot take it out of the garage due to no reverse.

Im using the GS300 shifter & have not swapped the dash over yet with the Aristo dash

I have not run the tacho wire yet but as Ive done what I thought was right with shiftlock rewiring I can move the shifter into drive etc, it seems to want to go forward in drive but in reverse it seems as if its in neutral?

I have done what I thought was correct in regard to the shiftlock rewire but maybe Ive done something wrong?

I noticed in the pic in this thread the pin plug is black where as the one Im currently using is grey?

Heres my pic

Have I done this correctly?

Here's a couple of pics of my car, (the black one) & a buddy's car which is also had a gte conversion

The black plug shown in the other thread is the stock GE plug, he only had to repin the connector because he did not get the gray plug with his GTE motor/harness swap.

Keep the wires in the stock positions on the connectors and install both the orange and gray jumper caps that came with the GTE swap.

You sure it's not a linkage problem with the transmission. Did you have the shifter and trans in neutral when you hooked the shift linkage up? I found that you need one person in the car and one person under. It needs to be in neutral but the person in the car needs to nudge the shifter towards reverse slightly.
