That "louder deeper sound" may sound ricey to some

The best HP gain intake you are goin to get is Joe-Z with stock box PERIOD. Anything out of that even the F-sport box is only allowing a high intake of engine bay heat.

Loud/deep sounding intakes = not rice

Loud high pitched lawn mower sounding fart cannons = rice

You should update the original post with a note that says you also have an F-Sport exhaust. The difference from stock intake + stock exhaust to F-Sport intake + stock exhaust is dramatic. I remember last year when I put my intake in RPM > 3500 sounded amazing! When I installed the F-Sport exhaust 6 months later I wondered where the growl went I do love the combo (F-sport exhaust + intake) it just sounds mean at WOT but it is hard to just isolate the intake noise.

Sound great! Have you considered getting a blend mount for your radar detector?

this is so true

loud =/= rice

depends on tone and pitch

deep-toned low growl vs high-pitched raspy screech
lexus vs civic

not sure about rx8 but my frnd has k&n sri on his lancer and is dam loud compared to mine on the 2is so i think application is a big factor too

honestly i like it though...below 3000rpm it's a refined luxury sport sedan....then when it hit 3000 the monster rips out (or..at least the sound haha)
so when i'm tired i just drove slow and the car is quiet...when i'm bored i rip it and it sounds amazing

I have the F-Sport intake on my IS 250 and LOVE it. Fantastic noise, yet not too much. Sound kicks in around 4000 RPM and is mostly a low growl/grumble
