I know OBX made headers that fit the IS300 and GS300, but Im not sure if its 2 separate pieces or 1 single item that will fit.

I fortunately have an OBX header for my 2001 GS300.

As for the Y pipe, I cant comment. Im currently using my stock Y-pipe.

I have a B-pipe from Carson Toyota. I know OBX makes B-pipes for the IS300...but it won't fit the GS300 because its a few inches short. You can get a shop to do some custome welding and lengthen it to fit your GS300, but Im not sure how much that will cost.

Good luck.

Pete

IS/GS headers are interchangable but like already said the mid-pipe/b-pipe is made identical but the IS is shorter than the GS.

The Megan mid-pipe fits the GS properly with no extending.

so your saying that the obx y pipe is useless and that i need to just replace it with a megan?

A while back OBX used to only have an IS300 header/midpipe kit, but you would see them advertised on ebay as being for the GS application also. But they would ship the IS one and you would need to extend the midpipe.

I do not know if since then if they have fixed this issue and are now making a separate pipe for the GS.

All the $100-$300 headers on ebay are the same thing, so just buy whatever header you want and buy the megan midpipe and put them on and be done with it. Don't worry about buying the OBX 'kit' it's not like OBX is anything special, they just brand the same stuff other ebay sellers have that ultimately comes from the same manufacture in china. OBX does make pretty boxes and packaging to differentiate the same product from the other sellers though.

I wouldn't pay to much for a header from the ones available on ebay as performance-wise they will all be similarly minimal in that respect. Headers will help a little but don't make huge difference on the NA 2J, but they do sound good and your car will sound very nice if you put header/midpipe/catback on it, the throaty sound will be added by the header and elimination of the cats when doing so.
