Quote: lol sounds like everyone likes the f sport intake... well, this is what the sales guy told me and he meant it has more restriction compared to other aftermarket intakes.
Step 1. Don't ever believe anything the dealer tells you. He likely knows less about the car than the guy he's selling it to.

Step 2. Don't expect much but noise from any intake on a 2IS. Some folks confuse noise with horsepower, but none will add enough to actually feel.

I bought the F sport pipe and filter not the airbox. I just cut a hole in my stock airbox because that's all the F Sport intake is. If you buy the F Sport pipe alone it's actually cheaper than the Joe Z pipe. I also wanted to be more dealer friendly. Sounds is great power is not noticable at all. For those that say they can feel the difference are fooling themselves. It is physically impossible to feel a 3-5 difference. That difference is so minimal that is you raced a car identical to your without the Intake it would still be a drivers race.

Including the mounting hardware (sleeves, clamps, etc)?

The Joe Z pipe is only $125... be kinda surprised if the "complete" F-sport pipe is less...

Actually all together it was the exact same price. I bought it about 8 months ago from Sewell. I remember finding out at the last minute that the mounting hardware was not included.

Close but not quite. Pipe plus coupling hardware = $148. JoeZ is $125.

$114.49 pipe + $34.19 coupler/hardware = $148.68 (CL discounted prices)

Quote: I just had my installed by a dealer yesterday and I freaking love it! Makes the car sound more ballsy without being overkill. Plus it gives you an extra 3-5 hp (from what I've seen tested).

I got my for $325 an paid $96 for the dealer to install (some ppl say its easy enough to do yourself but I'm not a car techy type of guy so I felt better leaving it to the pros).

Def worth the money in my opinion.
may i know which dealer u went to ??

Don't pay the dealer! This is quite possibly one of the easiest installs. If you know how to use a socket wrench you can do this yourself in 30 mins (ok, 45 if you're being really careful.)

I bought a used Joe Z intake, but since I'm in Cali, I bought the CARB sticker from the F-sport intake.
You can buy just the sticker from Sewell for $6.
I figured the cops won't know what the F-sport intake really looks like.

Sure. It was Lexus of Wesminster in socal. I know ppl say its an easy diy but I needed the piece of mind of it being done right. Also the dealership is now responsible for anything that goes wrong because of the intake (they installed).

I just bought the k&n 69 typhoons cold air intake cost me 387 taxes in and they claim it gives a 12 hp boost

You will find endless debates on how much HP you can get from any intake set ups. But I absolutely loved my F-Sport intake. The sounds was very nice and the design didn't look cheap. My car felt much more responsive even if was only a few HP's gain. Plus it's cover under Lexus warranty. That's nice especially if you have a difficult dealer that blames everything on your aftermarket part. Not sure why a Lexus salesman would tell you the design restricted anything. Most intakes are designed pretty much the same. Good luck.
