Default Changing SRT chip to SAFC 2

I got a SRT intake with chip but for about 10k miles now somethings been wrong. Well first I had the shift solenoid issue, and changed all of them. But for the last 5-10k miles my car has been eating gas like CRAZY more than my tundra im getting like 225 per tank
anyways I can smell gas when i start it, and preety much its runing rich way too rich.
Im trying to correct the problem by installing a SAFC, do you think taking out the SRT chip and putting in the SAFC will save me some gas?
how do you tune it when you install a SAFC 2 at home?
I plan on installing my exhaust system and then taking it to a dyno shop to final tune it but I am going to need to tune it at home first correct?
anybody in the bay area that can help? Beer cash?
im in Hercules

you really cant tune at home you need to tune the Safc under a load or driving it or in a dyno just be aware that i notice the ecu is very sensitive to changes and maybe bring a on a check engine light
i hope this help http://www.ehow.com/how_7930558_tune-apexi-safc.html

Agreed, you should really put in a bypass connection on the MAF so you can run the car stock to the dyno, take the jumper out and plug the SAFC in at the dyno.

Pick up a scanner or a wideband O2 sensor/gauge (I use AEM) and see what your cruise O2 values are. Remember that when an O2 sensor fails, typically they will read lean and the ECU will respond by throwing in more fuel. I have seen many "bad" O2 sensors not throw a CEL.

so dean you think my 02 sensor may be bad?
Im at 130k miles never changed any 02 sensor
you maybe right...
I think maybe I can have a shop with a dyno install the SAFC and tune it

Your primary O2 sensors (pre cat) are probably going south. Replace those (~$50 each) and then reset the ECU and you'll probably see a mileage and performance increase. Pick up a scanner since you have started modding. That will help you to determine if the O2 sensors are in fact bad. Yoiu'll also then be able to tell the correction on the fuel map.

The dyno shop should have zero issues installing the SAFC but it is very simple and I would save the money and do it yourself. Just bypass it for the drive to the dyno. The connectors should be in the package unless you bought it used.
