Those running BOV's

Ive been reading about how some cars with MAF's cannot run a BOV that vents to the atmosphere due to the loss of air that was already calculated by the MAF... perdy much after the BOV vents the car stalls?

does that apply to our cars? if so how do we go around it?

more specifically does it apply to a GS400 that is force induced? Placement of the BOV would be probably right after the intercooler so before the MAF.

heres the given setup:

RMM Supercharger Kit
Vortech V2
Vortech Maxflow BOV/BPV
Apexi SAFCII

Recirculate the depressurized air into the intake after the MAF?

can you put the bov before the mas ? then the vented air will never be metered.

use the decel air feature on your S-AFCII to compensate

thats what im thinking but im not to sure what would happen to the car if the pressure inside the pipes suddenly drops due to the venting... i will be doing that for sure tho if its reliable

So you've relocated your maf as a blow-thru correct?

If you are blow-thru you want the maf installed close to the throttle body post intercooler, and don't put the bov between the maf/tb. You'll want the bov far enough behind the maf to minimize turbulence, I put my bov on the hot side of the intercooler.

The stalling issue when running a maf and atmospheric dump is generally when the maf is still in a pull-thru pre-turbo/sc location.

You should be ok to dump if your blow-thru.

Your correct, it has to beplaced before the MAF. If you hav a RMM Supercharger Kit it is set up like this.

If you have the BOV between the MAF and throttle body then you need to recirculate the BOV exhaust.
If you have the BOV before the MAF and throttle body then you can vent to atmosphere.

Throttle body ----- BOV ----- MAF : Must recirculate
Throttle body ----- MAF ----- BOV : Can vent to atmosphere
