First of all the injen is not a cold air intake, its actually a short ram intake.
The joe-z is the best intake for your money and it produces more hp compared to the injen.
No cop would ever noticed that a joe z intake is an actual aftermarket intake if you get in black of course.
I would suggest you using the search feature, before posting all this information has been discussed in depth multiple times already.

nah....let him buy it. If he's gonna be hard headed about all this, let him make his own mistakes.

266.97 is what the "after" on that dyno says.

265 is what most people dyno stock in real life.

As to legality-I just showed you where the state of california themselves says it's not legal.

but some random website selling it says it is, so you'll just take their word for it.

Ok, good luck!

F-sport intake + Exhaust. This is probably the best combination. I use to have this setup but changed it up to F-sport exhaust + nvidia midpipe and AFE stage 2 intake.

Hey, wussup apokc?! all you need is the piping and the sleeves from the joe z. Just use your oem's filter. Sewell is selling the entire f-sport kit for only $299(is LEGAL fyi). you might wanna think about that too. f-sport intake is much louder than the joe z but the same gains as the joe z's. if i knew the joe z was this quiet, i would of gotten the f-sport, but oh well! joe z will come out to be around $150 shipped. chose wisely!

Yo Mong, drill thew hole in the air box like everyone says.

Im relying on the aftermarket exhaust to provide the sound though.

So Im prolly going with the Joe-Z

Even if they did (which I don't think they do) they'd still be illegal in all 50 states.

Oh ok. Nah drilling a hole to the oem's lower box seem un-lexus like(ghetto) lol. And both hks' exhausts are axle backs. All the exhaust for 2is are axle back but the joe z , megan, n the lms.

You won't gain much power wise from a cat back or mid pipe combo with the axle back anyway. Gains is prolly only 1-2hps on top of the axle back gains, and is not legal.

the l-tunedparts.com website may say "catback", but the HKS hi-power is actually an axle-back system. ask me how i know.

also, the HKS hi-power is NOT the same as the lexus HKS system. as i've posted earlier, the lexus HKS system is a predecessor of the f-sport system - so much so that it is almost similar in design. it was discontinued long ago and "replaced" by the f-sport system.

Ah so discontinued...
Damn, I liked the sound of HKS

So it's either Megan's, F Sport, Joe Z, Tanabe or TOM's?
Hmm..... now I gotta decide... TOM's is out cuz of the price

Not legal, but I can't imagine you ever getting in trouble especially since the intake is black.
