F sport intake review
i just picked up my car in mar, strictly because i needed awd not power. after i pick up the car and get on the highway to my surprise i had a mean growl, and im like wtf? i didnt know these cars soundlike that, lol. anyway a week later i buy some rims and tires, and while the car was on the lift i notice all this f sport stuff, the sway bars, shocks but not springs. then i open the hood and see f sport on a polished pipe. i said well i be darned thats where that throaty sound is coming from. then i find out from the dealer that the car has everything but exhaust and springs lol. but anyway coming from a person who has a supercharged car, the f sport sounds very pleasing and beastly.
Dont take your intake to the dealership to get installed. They will charge you an arm and a leg. I live in Arcadia not too far from el Monte, so if you want you can come and I'll help you rather than spending a lot of money
Dealer charged me only $60 to install the intake, which was surprising. Still though, dont bother. Either get someone to help you or do it yourself. Doesnt seem too hard to do
The biggest problem I found after installing the F Sport Intake on my 2011 IS 35 F Sport was keeping my foot out of it. I does sound sweet and the acceleration response is better. So no increase in gas mileage here.
from the way it sounds, the intake is very simple to install.
being someone with no experience working on cars im going to take this opportunity to actually install the intake myself and gain some car modding experience.
if i buy the part from sewell online, it'll come with installation instructions correct?
tools i need?
all the work is under the hood correct and no need to go under the car itself?

I need help installing I don’t wanna get any engine light coming on.
Make sure to pic up a couple high quality hose clamps as referenced by the OP. I needed to get them as well, the clamps included with the kit were not high quality and came apart while tightening them.
