hi guys i have a 2002 gs300 and it's gas mileage is soooo bad! i currently have 60k miles on it so everyting is basically a virgin, i do not understand why my gas mileage is so bad, i would drive for only 7 miles or so and i can see my gas gauge literally drop very noticeable. and short freeway drives would be worse. i just dont understand, can you guys help me? i always pump 91. and i dont drive harsh either, but i notice when i step on the gas, my car is hesitant to go there is a little lag where the front suspension would squat up and then go. thanks.
Check your air filter if its dirty replace it, clean throttle body/maf, ecu reset(unplug battery then plug back in), try running a bottle of techron through your tank to clean the injectors...Lastly I highly doubt your spatk plugs need to be changed, but that could be another option.
do you think its my 02 sensor too? im just thinking the two 02 sensor hooked onto the exhaust pipe is faulty? i dont think the ones on my manifold is bad tho, but again no CEL light came on. my car is just drinking gas down like beer right now. ugh.
60k, change the sparkplugs, air filter, oil change, trans fluid, diff fluid, preventative maintenance is always good. Clean out the throttle body, maf sensor, etc.
oh alright, ill check that, i just had my transmission oil change at about 48k ish. i do notice my car shifts a little harsh at i think is 3rd gear, its not smooth as it should be
catalytic converter?? because i know i need to get mine replaced and my car eats gas like no other.. that and its a gs4. but it should have way better gas mileage than it does! and also.. when i got an inspection, the guy said my gas cap wasnt tight enough
