Question CAR WON'T START

Hello,

My car has been on jacks stand for about a month now. I have finally install my air suspensions... GOOD NEWS right! My battery died out. So i bought a new battery and try to start up my car... It won't start up.

before, my car was working in perfect condition...

Gas is at a quarter tank... What can be the problem?

Anyone know what's wrong... remember before i left it on jacks stand for a month... It was working perfect.

Did you start the car during the one month it was on jacks ?

I will say that you did not, which would lead me to say, you might have a

starter problem.

Well,

Installing Air Suspensions probably involved running wires and such, check the fuses, maybe it somehow got blown.

You would need to be more specific. Need to hear how it sounds like when it's started. Get a video clip.

I thinking it might be a starter problem too, but again. I did start it during the one month, but towards the last 2 weeks. I didn't cause my battery died.

i'm going to see if i put in more gas and see what would happen.

When i barely turn it on so my electric can go through my car. it shows a oil thing on my cluster. Maybe that can be a reason?

make sure the battery terminals on the car itself are clean.. even though you got a new battery try jump starting it. see if it wants to turn on. or if its just cranks. if it just cranks then you would need a new starter.

i'll check it out when i get home from work...

Does the engine crank over at all? Is the security light in the dash blinking rapidly when you try and start it?

Well... Here's is a video of it.

Video is a great idea, but i cant see the security light, it is located just under the air vent on the drivers side, next to dimmer switch i believe.

security light is blinking as usual...

i check other threads on the forum... they said fuel pump, fuel pump ECU, alternator, starter... battery...

hmm what can be the problem. I bought a BRAND NEW battery. So it can't be the battery.

the car was working perfectly before it was on jack stand... Could it be the starter fuse

GS4_Fiend May 4, 2010 09:21 PM

Ok. First try putting some fuel in first and see if it starts.

That is not an electrical problem with that kinda of sound. If it can crank, it's either lacking in fuel or spark judging from that video.

If adding fuel doesn't work. Turn the key completely off. Have someone open the gas cap and put there ears and give the guy in the driver seat a signal to turn the car all the way ON but don't start and see if you could hear the fuel pump working. You can near some type of noise. If you hear nothing, fuel pump aint working. But I doubt it.

Next check for spark. Remove one of the coils out but leave the electrical connectors on and have some one start it and check to see if it has spark.

check fuel pump.

My F/P went on my other GS4 and did same exact thing.
