Research. Already been done with the supercharger - hardly worth the cost. Minimal boost and maybe 40-50rwhp, for ~$8000. Until someone does some hardcore R&D into making a new rotating assembly to lower the compression and provide a good baseline for boost, it just ain't gonna happen. Period. Dot.

Well, technically, it was done on a 350. But yeah the gains sucked for the cost.

They'd suck even worse on a 250 given both the smaller displacement and the fact you can get a 350 for only about 4k more with a full warranty and a lot more hp than the forced induction route.

Yeah, sorry, I just totally discount IS250's. I can't imagine why you'd buy a 250 and then dump God knows how much money into it to make it output the same power as a 350 comes stock with.

^^ THIS!

I have respect for all 250 owners, but complaining about no mods available and asking why not is pretty obvious. For as much as one will spend on 20 hp for a 250 you can likely get a 350 for (if not less).

If you have a 250 and want a faster car, go buy a 350, stop complaining about mods only for a 350.

Why does everyone keep saying it costs $8000 for the SC? LMS sold it for $5500.

well i think due to design, inline engines are way better with turbos and twin turbos and inline engines are suppose to be more effective and better than V but they take up way more spaces. however, for V engines you just rarely see any turbo or supercharger would give it a huge boost of HPs. if i didn't get this wrong, i think due to the design of lexus engine (weight reducement), our pistons are weak, so our 2is engines can break if we put too much pound of boost into it... so yeah... good luck with the twin turbo bro.

On the contrary... i've seen alot of V's make alot of power from forced induction, turbochargers specifically.

Inline or V has nothing to do with whether the engine is a good candidate for boost. Room in the engine bay is a whole lot bigger problem to solve with the 2IS platform. There are lots of discussion points about inline vs. V engines, but whether a turbo or supercharger will work isn't one of them. Neither has an inherent power advantage.
