The ECU has nothing to do with it.

The fact it's a 2.5L engine with 12:1 compression has a lot to do with it.

There is, literally, nothing reasonable that can be done to make an IS250 significantly faster.

If you're really feeling game you can try nitrous, a couple folks have had decent luck with it on a 350 anyway to add about 50-60 hp on pump gas. But you're simply wasting your time if you want to get anywhere near even the stock hp of an IS350, let alone more.

Seriously, the ECU has nothing to do with it. 12:1 compression does.

TOMs has ECU software in Japan. Their supercharger kit makes 10 more horsepower than the stock-ECU one in the US. And that's on higher octane gasoline too.

Is that same supercharger one can get for $17,563.63 from here?

Looks like a whole 50HP for $17K. Wow!

or I can get 50HP from this.
Hey...I believe it.

or I can add the price of that $17K supercharger to the cost of an IS250 and get Cayman, Corvette, Lotus Elise, etc, etc.........
