Lightbulb Few simple mods!

has anyone purchased/installed the weapon r cone intakes? If so, whats ur take on it???

Also, I was thinking about changing my stock exhaust system, and throwing in the HKS high-flow exhaust systems, and in the the future changing the headers(if anyone have any suggestions)....Just looking for some cost effective improvements to give me a noticeable shift in performance.

no i havent but reading here tells me the srt with ecu is the best intake. hks is a great exhaust with a sick note, also the apexi ws2 is great as well (i have it). as far as headers, s and s makes headers for our cars but be sure your getting the new batch and not the first batch as they are prone to cracking (i imagine the only way you could get the 1st batch is if you bought it privately or traded for it)

btw i think the weapon r intake is ONLY for the gs300 guys due to different MAF sensors and the S&S are ONLY for the gs400/gs430. since OP didnt clarify which car he has he may not be able to use the S&S headers but there are several options for the gs300 for headers if this is the model you have

When people ask for engine advice on this forum they NEED to state what model they have, 300, 400 or 430.

As far as naturally aspirated power gains for the 300... unfortunately, the gains are small and hardly noticeable except for more noise. The 300 does have the huge advantage of available turbocharger options. Nitrous is another consideration.

Consider that it would be VERY expensive and extremely involved to get 300hp NA from a GS300. MUCH more effective and inexpensive to simply sell and go with a 400/430 and get the 300hp and MORE torque than a 300hp GS300.

With turbocharging 300hp is EASY and the sky is the limit (or more accurately your budget) with 1000+hp proven.

400/430 cars should get headers and/or torque converter first followed by a dyno tune and possibly intake system. This can give a mid to low 13 second performance. For traction and for the "feel" going with a torsen LSD and 3.769 gearing is popular but rarely gives a measurable improvement in 0-60 or 1/4 mile times due to the change in shift points BUT it does FEEL faster.
