Question Supra throttle body

Someone suggested that I put in a Supra throttle body to get a little more power? Any reasons why this wouldn't work for a JZS147? Too many Lexus gizmos getting in the way, perhaps?

thanks

Default Well that depends...

I assume they meant one off an NA supra in which case thats the same one thats already on your car. If they meant one off a TT supra then yes mabe a negligable amount for the work involved to make it fit.

Ok, thanks.

Just trying to come up with some ideas of things I can do that are inexpensive. My friend put a throttle body from a minivan on his Lebaron and he said it helped. Chrysler's weird like that I guess.

Any other SupraTT parts I should look for?

Default The engine !

What gen is your car ? The front TT brakes are a nice bolt on item and the engine will work with a single turbo conversion or a moddified firewall to accomidate the rear turbo on the TT. Other than those few things I cant think of much else that will apply to either gen GS3. You can find lots of things in japan for the aristo but not much here in the way of suspension and engine upgrades cause we got jacked out of the good engine to start with. If enough people show intrest I am going to be having swaybars made for the first gen GS300's.

I have a '93 GS300. I think we can get sway bars for ours, can't we? I've seen them a few places thanks to links provided by people on this board.

What mods have you done? I'm deciding on new wheels for mine right now because it's totally stock (I even have to listen to tapes).

Well no one that I am aware of in the US (please do correct me if im wrong) offers swaybars for the first gen GS300 (lots for second gens) they had them for the SC3's though. I think Cusco and a few others used to but are discontinued. And lots of them in japan for any gen. but expensive as HE** to bring here. aprox 1100 us for front and rear sways. TRD makes an upper strut tower that fits our car but IMO its kinda fugly.
My GS3 just got wheels today 18x9 konig tantrums with Kumho 712s. Man you dont even have a CD changer ? I thought they all had that at least ?.
All I have is 2.5 inch custom mandrel exhaust so far. This summer I plan to do a 2JZ-GTE TT engine and just havent decided if I want to go with the 6spd trans or an Auto....Now before you go damn why would you want that much power and an auto... I have always had manual trannys but I kinda like not having to do anything but get in and drive. Plus as far as all out speed and track times most really fast ET cars are autos.
I didnt want to get too carried away on the board so if youve got other ?'s email me @ apexms@mindspring.com
