I installed the JoeZ intake + HKS drop in a couple weeks back. I actually didn't notice much difference in sound for normal driving, but it does sound louder at 3k+ rpm. Performance wise I did feel like the system is a lot more responsive compared to oem intake. I'm happy with it just got to take it out on my next smog check...

joe-z and make sure to drill a grip of holes in the stock air box and it sounds great after 3500 rpms.

I have fujita and my concern is heat soak since it's open in the engine compartment. But i got it for a $100 so i'm not complaining. I'm thinking about getting the F-sport though because i really feel that i'm losing a little bit of HP cuz of the open filter.
I would recommend something that is closed off from the engine compartment.

I have a JoeZ intake. I drilled holes in my OEM box, but then replaced the box with a stock one without holes because it was too loud for my liking. If you want something with a nice growl over stock, go with a JoeZ. You won't be disappointed.

just my $0.02

I don't think they are referring to intake issues directly. I think its "the engine" warranty overall. If engine starts making funny noise (for whatever reason), Lexus can/will use the aftermarket engine part(s) as one of many excuse it is making a funny noise.

Having said that if your car is still under warranty, go with F Sport Intake. Plus it sounds really nice if you add F sport exhaust - very aggressive IMO!
