Default Anybody used this engine air filter before?

I'm approaching 30K miles on my IS350, and according to the service manual, I should swap out the engine air filter.

I do not care about performance and sound of the engine air filter. I just want whatever keeps the car the way it was and avoid long-term engine malfunction.

I see this online:
http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/lex...50/air-filter/

$16.55 vs. $45-$50 for the K&N. I understand the K&N is reusable but I don't really want to bother with the cleaning (which requires I think some $ worth of supplies), and at 3X the cost, that's a payback of 90,000 miles. Who knows if I'll have the car that long, though I hope so.

So unless somebody tells me that this part is a disaster, I plan on using it. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ditto - best bang for the buck. OEM is top qualilty. Ironically, when I had my SC, the OEM filter tested better than the K&N and others.

How much did you guys purchase your filter for? I stopped by the dealer and they wanted $26+ for it, after trying to charge me $8.99 for the oil filter when I know they used to sell it to me for $5.41.
