RG Motorsport s/c for IS250?
I first read about this on my.is, but the thread hasn't been active for a bit. Anyone else know about this?

Pretty suspicious numbers.
For one thing, assuming they're claiming the blue line is a stock 250, they're claiming 141 hp... which is pretty low for stock hp..compare to this guy-
http://www.dragtimes.com/2006-Lexus-...aphs-9181.html
who is getting 162.5 stock, 167.5 with an air intake.
So anyway they're claiming they gained 107 hp, which would require 11-12 lbs of boost roughly. Which is about double the boost anyone else on earth has safely run on a 2IS without something else going on (alky/meth injection or something, and even then pretty high)

I got an email from my contact at RGM this morning.
They are working on putting together an instruction manual etc... I will post as soon as I learn more about what was done or if I see a website update.
I have a lot of questions into them about fuel octane, IC coolant, Engine Managment etc...
In general, the fuel octane in S. Africa ranges from 93 to 97 depending on location but I don't really know how that compares to our fuel.
I found out about this company from SEMA in Las Vegas so that might mean that they are willing to export to the USA????????

Depends what they did.
If they changed the ECU (like TOMs does for their JDM kit) then you're looking at either no chance for US ecus, or having to use a multi-thousand buck service JUST for the ECU work on top of the supercharger costs. I'd be pretty shocked if they doubled the boost from just an ECU change though, given TOMs does an ECU change and gets nowhere -near- those kinds of gains.
If they're simply running a supercharger on the stock ECU then throwing a massive intercooler and some sorta water/meth/alky injection on top of it, that might be doable in the US, though again costs will be pretty extreme.

They mentioned to me that they were using a Dastek Unichip Q+ to map the system which would lead me to believe that it was a piggyback style but I don't know if that was a general statement about the shop or specific to this project.
The Tom’s kit has been criticized a lot but it is for the IS350 and perhaps there was a conservative tune? I don't know.
My guess is that they are using a piggyback to tune AND a very efficient intercooler to keep the charge temperatures down. Usually the Air-to-Air IC are more efficient but they are using Air-to-Liquid so its still a puzzle to me.
