Question IS/GS Interchangeable Drivetrain?

Is the GE from an IS300 a direct swap with the GS300?

I know they are the same engine, but does the GS engine wiring harness plug n play with a GE from an IS?

How can I fit the IS300 A650E on the GS300?

Yes, I know they both have the same transmission but the IS has a slip yoke output and the GS A650E uses a 3 bolt flange. Anyway to make this work? I'm guessing I would need an IS300 driveshaft and have that fabricated to fit the GS?

The engine will work 100% with your GS300 harness. But the IS300 harness will not work on your ECU. So basically strip the IS300 harness off of the donor engine, then pull the harness off your GS3 engine, then slap that harness on the IS engine, and you'll be good to go.

As for the transmission, the harness will click right in and work no problem. As for the slip yoke design, you will have to get a custom driveshaft made for your car. Which can be a plus because you can request it to be a heavy duty DS. The factory one is perfectly adequate to arond 800whp for highway rolls or so I've been told. As long as it's not a high rpm drag launch with slicks then you'll be ok. It's also not easy to swap the tail housing since the whole output shaft will have to be removed and swapped over.

OK so all I need is a custom DS made and I'm good??

Would you recommend a custom DS that is lighter than, like those aluminum or even cf ones out there that quality DS shops offer? That is if the custom DS was only handling half of the power the factory DS is capable of handling?

I have a question...

Does the gs300 Have to be an 01 and up model for the IS motor to work with the GS harness.. Or will this swap also work for the 98-00? i know the woring is different between the two.. Im looking for a stock/turbo motor replacement with low miles.. not looking to make crazy power like Jeff.. But turbos would be nice.. thanks
