Default Can I do a custom Mid-pipe section with the Tanabe? If so, How?

I have seen a few people out here who have a custom built exhaust. I have the Tanabe and eventually will be looking at the Mazurri Headers. I was wondering if I can do anything on my own, with a custom exhaust shop with everything in between the headers and axle-back exhaust. i.e. what can I do with the mid-pipe section and how??
thanks.

Something minor & quick would be to remove the secondary cats or remove the oem resonator on the OEM piping

The gains will be minimal and sound will increase slightly as well...
