Default Intake and Warranty?

Hey guys,

So I want to put in an intake on my IS250, and I asked the dealership how it will affect my warranty, and they said that if "we find the cause of the problem to be from the intake, your warranty for that problem is void" Sooo...what are the chances of an intake doing anything really? They mentioned electrical, but its just an intake, are they stupid or do they have a point here?

I mean, i just want an intake god damn it. Oh and I'm thinking about getting this particular intake:

any recommendations on the intake itself? or where i should buy one? Easy to install?

Thanks a lot

the chances are pretty close to zero.

Which is remarkably similar to the horsepower gain you'll see from the intake BTW

that specific intake, or just in general? I wasnt going for 100% performance increase, I hear it is also good for fuel consumption. no?

Any recommendations for a good intake?

Just in general. read through some threads here, and you'll see most people found no real HP gains from any intake, some folks claim to have measured a HP -loss- with aftermarket intakes. Mostly it just makes the car a bit louder.

The Joe Z seems the best bang/buck in that dyno testing shows a few hp gain, and it's much cheaper than anything else. If it's worth the cost to gain single-digit HP is up to you or not though.
