Do they make the K&N intake for a GS430.....I dont see it on their website. It seems they only make if for the GS400.

Also they advertise that their is less intake sound with the K&N FIPK....how loud is it? I want an intake that screams.

Get the SRT intake for the GS430 if you want the loudest possible sound from your intake.

I voted stock with a K&N drop in. If I want sound, I just pop in a CD.

Do you have to do the ECU upgrade with the SRT intake? I have a Certified Pre-Owned GS430 and I feel that the dealership will void everything if I do that.

That is why I was considering the Rod Millen intake because it looked pretty simple.

Anyone have any experience with the sound level from the Rod Millen intake?

I have a borla rear section on the car now.

you have to install a piggy back chip to your ecu, so as long as the dealer don't see it, than you are ok. it's a risk, but it's up to you.

I find this a rather pointless argument, intake isn't much of a power mod, intake is a intake as long as you don't buy the eBay crap with the cheap filters. Why spend $550.00 on a SRT intake when you can buy something cheaper for like $100-$200 dollars and does the same thing. The "30HP gain!" is just for selling the product.

sounds like you need to research intakes more. if you were a real car enthusiast you would know intake doesn't really do crap. Save yourself 300 dollars and get a real mod. Get $100-$200 dollar intake and call it a day.

First of all, I'm not even TRYING to get in between the "conversation" you two are having but would like to get back on point. I have a Nissan 350Z Roadster that is pretty tricked out and had success installing a NISMO exhaust and intake. Although I haven't had it dyno checked, I'm possitive I've picked up some additional low end torque, some high end HP, and to be quite frank, some nice "road noise" to draw some attention. Probably somwhere in the 15-20 HP gain area

All that said, I think the combination of intake PLUS exhaust does some good things so back on point to the thread:

Is anyone having real success with an affordable intake/exhaust system. Like someone posted earlier, $550 might be expensive for some to purchase an intake but are there other options?
