Default Performance? Please help...

I just purchase a 98 Gs300 and it's such a nice car. I know that a 2jzgte motor will drop into this car and that got me really excited. I don't know how and where to get anything that will be called performance for this car beside the 2jzgte motor. Can you guys/gals share some idea and give me somewhat of a guide to the whole performance scene with this luxury car. I have a MR2 and there's a lot of info and things out there for it, but the GS 300 don't seem to have much info out there for me to research. So please help me on this topic.

I really don't want to see my future project become a beater.

Most of the GS info is gonna be on this forum. Use search...it's an invaluable tool and it actually works pretty good here on this forum(I know of a few forums where the search is very inaccurate or is completely broken lol).

As you've found out...the 2jz-GTE motor will drop into this car. You probably also know that the supra TT uses that motor since you seem to be a Toyota enthusiast. Finally, you also probably know that motor can take a hell of a beating(800hp+ not out of the question if tuned correctly with quality parts). Can you imagine hauling *** 700-800hp down the road in a 4 door sedan heh? I can only dream...one day, one day

Thanks for the input guys. Now I am wondering, am I going to be hauling *** in a automatic sedan? Someone already told me that I can use a Supra 6 speed tranny in my GS300 along with the 2JZ-GTE motor. Is this true or is it a plain guess or theory?

Yes, it's possible and has been done a few times. Be prepared to shell out some big bucks though. And I mean big bucks...around 10-15k I'd say. The transmission alone costs about 6-7g's new. You can probably find a used one in good shape for around 3-4g's. Also it's possible to haul ***(600hp or so) with an auto. Just make sure you have the transmission built strong and also have a good transmission cooler to match. If you want indestructable...then go with the supra 6spd. That baby can hold 1000+hp no problem.
