thanks everyone for the opinions and hey horse power isnt everything, if im rite the acura nsx only has like 230 somethinng h.p. and no1 with that car complains lol
to think lexus would give it a little bit bigger engine at least a 2.8 liter or something.. i would say around 230 horses would be good.. i mean comon we can barely beat four bangers.. sad
i previously owned an RSX-S and i can safely say that the rsx-s is faster than my 250. Thats due to the fact that the 250 is like a tank in terms of weight compared to the rsx-s... but as mentioned before, a lexus is a lexus... i would rather be driving in style than having that tad bit of extra ponies.
I've read that the 250 handles better than the 350 due to the lighter engine up front. Since it has less weight in the front, it pushes less into the corners. In other words, it suffers from less under steer than the 350.
I gotta keep coming up with things to tell myself.
Ummmm, no. The engines weigh almost exactly the same. There is a 1 lb difference according to Toyco. Both cars plow the front like an agricultural implement by design.

If you get understeer, just watch the top gear episode with the lotus on how to drive it.
From what i understand, cars are designed with understeer for 'safety' something or other... i've never understood that concept. How can going straight when your trying to make a turn be safe? Therefore its safer in a right hand hairpin to plow into oncoming traffic than to just spin out... ok...
It's safer to hit something with the front of your car than to hit something or have soemthing hit the side of your car. Understeer is also a lot easer to control for most drivers on the road. Unfortunaly, slamming the brakes when you start losing control is most people's initial reaction, which is exactly what NOT to do in an oversteer situation.
lobracer just so you know 250 with X-package out performs 350 by 4 mph in cone test by road and track(most recent)250 is better balanced car
70.4mph is250
66.8mph is350
68.9mph 335

I drove both before I left the dealership. There was no way I could buy a IS250 given how sluggish it was. After the AC is turned on down in Vegas it has some trouble merging with traffic. I would not recommend it. I have a RX350 and that SUV is faster than an IS250.
My suggestion to all of you who are buying the 250 and modding it out with exhaust, intake and all this stuff is to just spend that money on the larger engine. You will be much happier in the long run I can asure you. Really, who cares about a stick anyway. It will be cool for the first 4 months and than it will get old. If you can't afford it than you should wait until you can.
Hell, I am thinking of trading mine in for the IS-F when that rolls out.
