Headers WILL NOT blow your motor so where is the need to worry about the warranty or the motor?? IMO

This is true. The problem is if for some reason some engine component decides to give out, I could see 99.9% of Lexus dealerships being weaniers and say that they will not even touch the engine because of the race headers.

Honestly, I think it is a big mistake trying to get multiple header manufacturers working on headers at the same time since that creates the perception of competition in an already small market. I wish you guys would wait to see what LMS does with their header project. Otherwise, we may never get them...

^Sorry, but I'm not buying anything from LMS - especially headers.

I'm not a big LMS fan either, but that still doesn't change the fact that the best chance for us to get a decent set of headers is for one company at a time to work on them. If 5 companies are all considering developing headers for the IS350, and they all know that they are all considering it, I guarantee ALL of them will decide not to pursue it. The only way I see a company like Borla developing headers is if several other companies do it, and they suck.

Competition is what drives prices down.

I wouldn't consider the header market for the 2IS to be anywhere close to an economy of scale (necessary for your statement to be true). Keep in mind that whoever develops a decent set of headers for this car knows that they won't break even on the development cost until they've sold dozens of them.

Greg - your point is well taken, and as a matter of fact I couldn't agree with you more. However, in the interest of keeping this thread in a positive direction, I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that there are certain companies that make better product than others...

This is true, but it's always nice to have other alternatives to products, especially if other companies have a reputation for making better products.

The reason I jumped on the Borla wagon is because there is still no response from LMS and Borla makes great products. I still haven't heard back from them either so it looks like no one is interested in the IS350 as far as hardcore aftermarket performance parts are concerned. I am not really concerned with the price, if you came from a Honda you know that a quality header and I mean just one piece 4-1 or 4-2-1 can run you upwards of 1500 USDM. I don't want to overpay but if we get someone who can seriously make these, then I'm in.

I would love to have alternatives, but you can't have alternatives until you have the FIRST. We know Megan's headers aren't the answer, so we are still looking for the FIRST to be developed. I don't think we will see ANY more headers until it is clear that there is a good market for ONE company to develop a set. A SECOND company won't develop a set until it is CLEAR that the remaining market is all theirs...

None of the companies that are considering headers for the 350 are forum sponsors. We won't get good feedback from them...
