I have a 2000 GS400 (90K miles) and I am currently having a local reputable shop install the following in my car:
3.76 LSD
PI TC
B & M Tranny cooler
new rear axles
tranny mount
The shop called me up earlier today and mentioned how BLACK my transmission fluid was and remarked that he felt that it was probably NEVER changed. However, Smithtown Lexus (I called and confirmed) changed the trans fluid back in August 2005 (about 22K miles ago)! My car was shifting normal before I brought it to the shop; I don't have it back yet. Should I be really concerned? The shop also mentioned that to be advised when fluid is that dark and you do a flush with new fluid the tranny might act up or slip...I need this like a hole in my head! Please give me some advice/input/feedback ASAP!!!

Nick, get the Amsoil tranny service done through my guy. Many local members had the Amsoil service done and are pleased to this day. Read this thread for insight.. Good luck.
Too late it's at the shop already...I requested them to flush and put Amsoil ATF in there as you suggested on some of your previous threads.
Did you see the Amsoil Universal Transmission fluid containers? It has to be special ordered since it is not sold over the counter. Some shops are just shady, and will tell you anything. Make sure you are getting a transmission fluid exchange service via T-tech and not a transmission flush with chemicals. Just looking out for a fellow member.. Good luck..
