i have the k&n intake in my is250 with a dyno . 7 to 9 hp gain at the wheel is possible and my oppinion is that you can feel 5hp extra in a 250 more than in a 350 ,and don't forget the torque gain

you guys can bash it all day long, its the best engineered aftermarket intake so far. CAI, no... but its better than these open filters that expose more heat to the filter than the stock setup (in which joe-z is your best option since the drop in filters have shown minimal-to-no gains)

To me, it looks a lot like a K&N but the MAF hole is 6"s farther in. The heat shield looks similiar also, as far as effectiveness goes, so it goes directly through the side, I don't think that will make any difference.

i believe the heat shield on the K&N is not completely closed up like this one is. see how the heat shield on the aFe actually completely wraps around the intake pipe. K&N does not. maby someone could actually modify this intake and weld some kind of "door" on top that closes shut so almost no hot air can enter. almost like our stock airboxes

Does that top heat shield come with? Some pics show it, some don't.

Bring it up and ask for Brandon, I'll give you a good deal on a before and after run. just make sure you bring up the stock box when you come up. Looks like it has a velocity stack set up, so i would be interested in seeing the results myself.

Oops. Looking at wrong table. That's liters/sec. Yeah, 439.37 CFM.
