Default Carbon Fiber Hoods

Do you have to use hood pins or is it just a suggestion? A lot of companies say it is mandatory. Those with cf hoods please let me know if you used these pins or just the factory hood latch. I really don't want that hood pin look (too much of a performance for me). Also, is Seibon a good brand name???

Thanks,
Nick

Seibon is a good brand. The use of hoodpins is totally up to you and how confident you feel in the aftermarket hood and it's quality of latch as well as the strength of the material around the latch. In most cases people would rather be safe than sorry. On top of that, some cars with carbon fiber hoods tend to flex (rise up and down quickly for lack of a better description) due to air pressure on the highway etc... making the hood have the appearance it isn't latched completely even though it is. The hood pins help to lessen this movement and alot of the time can almost stop it completely.
