Default Exhaust tips only?

Has anyone purchased only exhaust tips for their 250/350? I'm interested in a more aggresive look from the rear, but not in spending a lot for modest HP increases. I also would like to preserve the stock (quiet) sound. I know Tanabe's system is supposed to be pretty quiet but I just don't know if it's worth spending the money. So, can I just get some nice tips to fill in the gaps on my IS 350?

the stock tips, you ust wiggle off.

I Havent been able to find good tips though. I ended up buying a pair on ebay... but the seller didnt send them to me. I am now complaining to paypal.

This sucks, the seller has 98% positive, 15000 rating. And lives very close to me.... unbeleivable that I was ripped off.

You can see the aftermarket tips on my ride in the link below. I got them from Autoanything.com. They were around $52 each. They are made by Borla so there is a Borla tag on them. I didn't know this until I got them. I was planning on getting the Borla exhaust later anyway. I just wiggled the stock tips off and had someone weld the new ones on. The last pic should give you a good idea how big they are. 3.5" x 4.25" oval openning. I forgot how long they were. PM me if you plan to get these because they have to be cut to fit.

Wow, very sweet ride. I love your rims! How much would a muffler shop charge me to weld on some new tips? Also, do you think a good shop would have some tips on hand? Maybe I should find a good shop and check it out...

No, chaning only the tips will not change the sound unsless you get ones with resonators. You can also change the mufflers to change the sound.

I just went to a local Midas shop and the guy charged me to cut and then weld the tips on for $45 each. So total for installation is $90. Yes, they had some tips on hand. I just liked the way the Borla tips were constructed.
