got her back! I didn't get to talk to the tech after or see the mounts. the car definitely has less vibration. when the car was shaking before at about 500 rpm, now I can just barely detect that the car is idling low. in park or D with ac on you can hardly tell it's running.

No problem. Yea it did get smoother. I guess those bushings lay around uncompressed or something. Yea, I'm telling you, you won't feel that the car is on. I tried to start is a couple of times, while it was on already.

 

slick was right, the car is even smoother today than it was yesterday. I guess the mounts do settle in. I can not feel anything in the wheel today, even idling at 500 (that's as low as mine goes).

 

Did you also notice that when you put your car from park to reverse, you don't feel a thing. I've had to look at my cluster a couple of times, because I though I hit neutral or something.

 

a little smoother. I know my mounts were worn, but don't think they were quite as bad as yours. I wish I would've looked at them.

Then again, i'm sure I need a tranny fluid change.

But at a stoplight, I cannot feel a damn thing.

 

oh year,that is probably it. I drain and fill my tranny fluid, and diff every 9k miles. It's very easy to do, so I do that and oil change in the same day. Takes a couple of hours. Oil changes take longer because of that damn engine cover.

 

mine just never really thumped into gear before. my brakes creak a little if I'm not pushing the pedal hard enough from R to D, but that's it. my tranny fluid is red & fresh too. I've changed it a few times and will again next oil change too. It's ridiciulous the dealer charges $100 for that! it's easier than an oil change.

btw slick- why does the engine cover bother you for oil change? you mean the bottom cover? all you have to do is loosen 2 or 3 10mm screws and the flap opens up under the filter.

 

I have to drain an refill my fluid every 1000 miles Stop and go traffic is killing my transmission. It doesn't shift buttery smooth like it use to. I'm going out to Kragen later to pick up a tranny cooler, and then off to honda to get Amsoil atf

 

I'm going to get a cooler also. But I need to find some Stainless Steel Trans oil lines. I have read before somewhere that you can effectively drop line pressure to your trans. by having hoses that are too long, and/or too soft.

I think we went off topic crazy hard now. lol.

 

Come to think of it, I was on another forum and this one company in texas is going to custom make some Engine Dampers for their car. I think our cars could benefit from using one. It'll reduce the engine from rocking back and forth, giving us better throttle response. Also, it'll help prolong the life of the engine mounts; after all, we only have two mounts to hold the engine in place. I've been in car with and without the damper and it makes a difference. Power is being put down on the ground better because of less delay.

Then again, I could be dreaming

 

So Chuck, what do these things cost if your car isn't in warranty like yours??

 

Yo Jerry-I think it'd be around $700-800 at the dealer for all 3 mounts installed. I hope these last a while. believe me, I feel lucky getting something like this on a 6 year old car warrantied for free.
