awesome. If we can get 15-20 people chipping in $5, that should cover a lot of cayman's dyno expenses, from which we all benefit from anyway. I don't plan on putting any of the aftermarket filters in myself but this info is great for those contemplating it.

Testing will be done as such:
- Car has had it's battery disconnected so that the ECU is reset
- Car will be driven a couple hundred miles prior to the dyno session so that the car is dropped on the dyno in the same condition as my other dyno's
- 93 octane will be used
- SAE correction also used
- Same dyno roller will be used as my last dyno. It's an all wheel drive dyno so I can choose which roller I use.
- First few runs will be with the Blitz drop in filter installed and I will take the best of those runs and overlay it with my last JOEZ intake dyno graph
- Car will be cooled off
- I will then throw in a brand new factory airfilter and make a couple runs and take the best of those runs and overlay it with my JOEZ intake dynograph and the best run with my Blitz drop in filter.

Ok, I've contributed to the "Caymandive Intake Testing Dyno Fund" Do I get a free newsletter or something? How about some fundraising phone calls or junkmail? Can't wait for the results!

Your right about the 2nd filter. However on my old is300, i removed the cover to the intake box for a while; it sounded 10x deeper...however im sure it sucked in more hot air...but the coldair/short ram still worked...

when i get the blitz filter, ill prob remove the top cover for a few days to see how it sounds/see the performance without the 2nd filter. It'll probably cancel out the hot air

I don't think you can remove the top cover, only the sheet of filter that is in it, (if your talking about the 2ND GEN IS, that is.. I don't see it being much louder without that though, just less restrictive..

Yeah it's not going to make the car louder in the 2IS. It's also a permanently placed filter so it can't be removed, so we gotta take care of it and I personally will be avoiding any type of oil required drop in filter.

I honestly dont know how they can harm your car, Iv'e had K&N oiled filters on a few cars in the past with no problerms, I think you can only run across problems if you "over oil" them..

Oh I'm not saying they will harm the car, but they do have the potential to release some oil into the second stage air filter in the top of the airbox which would negate any benefit to an aftermarket high flow drop in filter.

Of course you can remove the top cover, how else do you expect you would replace the filter?????
