ps, I'm actually not sure if this is a new article or something that just showed up in Google news, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Interesting article, but seems a bit old as they didn't yet have pricing for the IS. Most of the article is true and I'm just sitting back and waiting to see how the tuning market works this car over.

so far the tuning market is going pretty damn crazy ove rthe 2is. it was released in october but i think most pickups and purchases were made around december, and since then we have a good number of springs exhausts intakes and body kits already made.

this engine is pretty damn weird and can act strange, positive and negative, to mods. it will probably take a pro team like blitz or someone to really figure out the engine. well they probably already did with their S/C kit, but it hink we'll see great things from it.

Actually, I kinda disagree. Aside from asthetic aftermarket products there really hasnt been many performance mods. Suspension stuff is easy, and I still do not believe there are coilovers from H&R, Stasis, and Koni (correct me if I am wrong please)

There are extremely limited exhaust and intake options as well. There is only one full catback exhaust and that is from LMS. The Tanabe is just a rear section and nothing has been put out by HKS yet. It is also my understanding that there are no downpipes available yet either. There are only two intakes to my knowledge (LMS and I forget the other one). The LMS intake was independently dynoed by a member here and there were no performace gains to be had. There were minimal gains once a fan was was placed in front of the intake.

There are still no ECU mods yet and no official forced induction kits (though this is expected, FI takes a long time to develop into a full production offering). There are also no tranny chip mods (hopefully someone will fix the upshift problem) yet.

Are there even big brake kits available by Stoptech, MoveIt, Alcon, or Brembo yet?

Please correct me if my info is wrong
