I think I've switched mufflers 4-5 times already. It is just a pain to get the leverage needed to hang it onto the rubber hangers, especially if you are laying on the ground.

Other than that, it should be pretty straightofrward.

I know I'm going to get trashed by asking this, but gonna try anyway.

I test drove the M35 over the weekend (just out of curiosity.... find out what I was missing... turns out not much) and sorta liked the sound. It had a deep growl to it.

I just bought a '98 GS400 and I am looking for a similar sound. Not to loud, but something you can feel while you press the gas. GS400 is a great car, but too quiet.

Which one of these exhausts will make it sound something similar to a stock M35? (I know its a V6 which makes the sounds different...) I am looking for a discreet, yet deep sound.

no trashing here

the only exhaust i can comment on is the Blitz

i have recieved nothing but compliments on it

no drone whatsoever

the other exhaust i heard was the HKS and i didnt like it bit

too much drone for my taste but thaty was on a GS300

Jaja,. no trashing here either. I can't say I've heard an M35, but I have heard the G35 and 350Z and LOVE the exhaust note on those cars.... IMO one of the best sounding factory snarls ever, so I know what you're talking about.

You aren't going to find any exhaust for the GS4 that sounds like that... Some of the GS300's might get somewhat close, but not quite the same. All the aftermarket exhausts on a v8 will make a much deeper sound than the Infiniti v6. The Borla I have is one of the quietest exhausts I've heard on a GS (besides stock) but has a great aggressive tone when you get into the gas.

When you guys say deeper, do you mean louder and deeper?

I heard those clips online, but they are revving like crazy, and its really hard to tell... sounds like my modded 240sx.

Anyone in Socal with a modded exhaust want to show me what it sounds like? I'll buy you lunch.

It sounds like the Borla is the one I am after. Since its going to be my family car (new kid coming any day soon...) I don't want the ricer lawnmower sound, but I do want some ***** when I push on the gas. I think the stock M/G/Z350 they all sound incredible.... I think the difference is you can just faintly hear the exhaust - coming from the rear, not through the firewall, a not feel it.

I have to agree with jaja. That lawnmover sound is terrible... I think I'm going with the blitz exhaust... I'm going to wait about another week or so before i make my decision... I heard those sound clips to but i guess you need to hear them in person to get the full effect. The blitz on the video wasn't as high piched as the other ones if I'm expalaining that right...

tLW mentioned that i needed exahaust gaskets for the new exhaust... Anyone know where to get those..... for 600.00 they should come with the whole kit............ Thanks again..

You can take a road trip to norcal and buy me lunch, it's only a few hours away. otherwise you might have to fly down where TLW is. i think the Blitz is exactly what you are looking for. can't go wrong with it.

So it sounds like Borla or Blitz is the way to go....

I guess I'll have to stop some modded GS4 down here... haven't seen many in the Torrance area in LA. maybe all the modded GS4s are in West LA.

Someone lemme know if they have some "regular" sound clips of the exhaust.... cause the links are all high reving and really can't tell.

GSing - sure I'll buy you lunch... if you pick up the gas for me to get up there...

TLW and guys with the Blitz Nur Spec.... Well the exhaust looks great and i had two questions... DO you guys scrape your exhaust going over bumps and any other weird conditions... They look so shiney that i would hate to stratch them all up.... Also where can i find those exhaust gaskets...thanks tmf

ii scaped for 3 reasons

1.i was way too low
2.i had to flatbed
3.i was way too low
the exhaust gaskets you can get either at Lexus or try an auto parts store

sorry meant to answer that earlier

Borla is cheaper in price and is a quality product

Hey TLW - when you say that Borla is "not quality" what do you mean? Exhaust leaks? I like the fact that the Borla sounds like its quiet during idle and highway cruising (for my newborn kid) and if I want to floor the gas, then I get some *****....

Pls let me know in what areas that the Borla lacks quality
