Why do you waste your money? Why not go OEM platinum? They last 120k miles, keep wasting your money.

Because these have proven hp gains. Gotta pay to play. To some it worth the extra 5wheel. Every little bit helps.

What is the price difference between the OEM platinums and the TM plugs? I know l-tuned sells the TM plugs for 12.50 a piece.

Our cars (at least my GS400) comes with OEM Denso iridiums. Those are about $12/plug from the dealer. About $7-8/plug at wholesales price.

Default Any special instructions for mechanic on TM

Hello guys,

Should my mechanic have any special instructions on installing TM plugs?

Should I get wires too,

What kind of wires do you recommend?

Thanks,

Thanks everyone,

I have ordered from Carson @110 w/ shipping(8 plugs).

After reading there are no wires to be replaced.

Thanks,

I think i've read enough about other peoples results on these plugs.. I would actually like to find out how you achieve 5 more horsepower, at the wheels, by you using a different sparkplug? So much effort was put into this engine, and the components that it was designed with, i don't understand how so many people can be thrown by split-fire2. I opted for OEM Platinums because at 120k mile service interval it is pretty hard to beat, and if you were to run the TMs which i have heard do not last nearly as long, you would be doing 2 to 3 times the plug changes. If anyone can explaine how this magical spark plug can achieve more horse power, i might be convince, until then, it's snake oil.

I had a set of TM plugs put in at around 100k. now i'm at 172k. just had my second set installed and honestly, the first set still worked just fine. i cleaned out my throttle body and did a seafoam before getting them swapped though.

the car ran just fine before but after the throttle body cleaning, seafoam, and new TM plugs, car runs maybe a little better? i'm sure it's better, just not like gs300 => gs400 better.

maybe my fuel economy will improve - who knows. i'll post up later since i'm still on the same tank of fuel that i had when i had the plugs swapped.

....there have been dyno pulls before on bone stock GS4XX's. First with new Denso platinum spark plugs then more pulls with the Torque Master spark plugs. This was done on the same day, not even 1 hour apart from one another and the car gained 5-7whp with the TM's! Not sure how this is possible but search and you will find. I don't feel that they last hardly as long as the Denso's but they give you more of a slight push; barely noticeble but I guess when replacing stock items (because they are old) people tend to want to replace them with items that yield more horsepower; even if it is just 3, 4 or 5hp.
