Default '01 Gs300 Spark Plugs

Hi - I am trying to change the spark plugs in my '01 GS300 and cannot for the life of me remove the "VVT-I" plastic cover!! I removed the 4 screws on top and cannot find anything else attached to it. Is there something I am missing or should I just yank it as hard as I can?!

Also, I purchase Denso Iridium spark plugs online. Do I need to gap them? If so, at what measurement?

TIA!

Don't even try to gap the plugs, you will brake them, how do i know, I learned from the hard way. They are pre-gapped.

Had the same problem on my first attempt too. You just pry around the edges gently until it comes loose. The seal holds it in there very tight.

I remember that on my 1st gen GS300 there were 6 bolts. Four on the top and two on the bottom at the front of the engine. I don't know if this is true with the 2nd gen GS300, but it might be.

Also, DON'T gap the plugs. They come pre-gapped.
